Unchurching Resources | Richard Jacobson

“Right now, millions of believers are leaving the organized church[es], without abandoning their faith.”

Unchurching by Richard Jacobson

Welcome to the Unchurching Facebook group, a discussion group for Christians who love Jesus, but are done with organized church.

Our conversations center around three main topics:

• How Christ is helping us deconstruct the organized church model

• How Christ is revealing his vision of genuine church community

• And the ways in which he is drawing us closer to him, during the journey in-between

This group was started by me, Richard Jacobson, author of Unchurching: Christianity Without Churchianity: https://www.amazon.com/Unchurching-Christianity-Churchianity-Richard-Jacobson-ebook/dp/B01KGMYXJK/

And co-host of The Unchurching Podcast: http://unchurching.libsyn.com

Although this group is primarily aimed at unchurching Christians, some of our members are other folks who are also interested in the unchurching conversation.

If you have something to contribute to the unchurching discussion, or a question about unchurching, or even if you just want to be a fly on the wall and simply listen, you’re more than welcome here.

For more information, please consult the group description. There, you can learn how to join the conversation, find links to various resources, and more.

The main question members ask is how to find other members in their same town. To help with this, we previously created group maps, surveys, and lists. But we found most people are quick to search for other people’s info, but slow to add their own.

So, I finally created an instructional video which will teach you how to perform an advanced Facebook search to find group members in your area.

A great way to start forming non-institutional church communities with other believers is through book study groups. If you decide to study Unchurching with a group, you might want to consider using this handy group study outline.
